How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1 Bedroom in a 57 Acre Gated Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
