How to book the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean View King Suite! Sleeps 4 Meridian Plaza 705 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
