Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 1 Bedroom Lodge Villa in a 57 Acre Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
