Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Amazing cute & cozy condo in the center of MB has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
