How to find the best vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Choosing the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Condo w\/ WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
