How to get the best vacation home experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your group choose the best dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Condo in Central MB! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
