Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/AC, WiFi, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
