Our top Rental property booking tips:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Ocean Reef 905 - Oceanfront! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
