Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First, have your family choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Delightful Double Angled Oceanview Suite at Sand Dunes! 1245 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, email or call the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
