Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Getting the most from your budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 11th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/WiFi, AC, Shared Pool\/Hot Tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
