How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing yourrental home:
- Choose dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Direct Oceanfront Views,Pools Caravelle,HIGH Floor has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
