How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 11th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with AC & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
