Vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- To get the best rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best rental:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Gorgeous unit in Arcadian Dunes. Steps to the ocean and pool! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
