Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose dates and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Updated w\/Pickleball Courts & Hot Tubs MBR - 4102 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
