Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- To get the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 14th Floor Elegance: 3BR Condo Oceanfront Views has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
