How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 15th -floor condo with partial ocean view, pool, hot tub, & AC - snowbird-friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
