Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 16th-floor beachfront snowbird-friendly condo with hot tubs, pools, lazy river has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review.
