Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 17th-floor partial ocean-view snowbird-friendly condo with AC & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your family.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
