Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 18th Floor 3 Bedroom Oceanfront Stunning View has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
