How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your group decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Fall Specials! Oceanfront Luxury 4 Bedroom in Margate Tower Panoramic Views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
