Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanfront Luxury 4 Bedroom in Margate Tower Panoramic Views! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
