Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 19th-floor ocean-view studio with WiFi, AC, pool & hot tub - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
