How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 7th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
During your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
