Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful condo in a private community + Free Attraction Tickets! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
