Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly listed jewel, snuggled in the center of a lush tropical paradise! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
