Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. 2 bdr\/2 bath Oceanfront (based on availability) has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
