Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick yourrental:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 2 Bedroom 2 bath in a great loaction has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
Tips for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
