Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beach Colony Resort listed on Forbes best hotels in Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
