Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beach Colony Resort listed on Forbes best hotels in Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
