Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family select trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Free State Park Pass 1350 SF Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
