Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Free State Park Pass 1350 SF Free Parking has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
