Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose the perfect rental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. “Gone Coastal” at Sea Watch Resort- Ocean Front 3 Bedroom-2 Bathroom Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- During check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
