Our top Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 21st-floor partial ocean-view condo with pool, hot tub, AC, & W\/D has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
