Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Anderson Ocean Club, a Hilton Grand Vacations Club - Studio Ocean\/Water View has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
