Getting the best vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect rental home:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. HS-1025 - Snowbird specials are now available! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
