Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable rental within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Amazing Newly Renovated Atlantica Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
