Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- To start, have your group commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Magnolia Pointe 203 near Myrtlewood Golf Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
