Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Waterfront, Large deck, Pet friendly, Golf cart. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- At Check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
