Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Booking in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the rightrental:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Comfortable Condo near Beach, Golf, Myrtle Beach! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
