Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2BR\/2BA ResortCondo, Beach\/Shopping\/Entertainment, Free WiFi & Parking, Clean has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
