Tips to get the best vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. BEACHFRONT - Remodeled - Best LOCATION - Lazy River - 6th Floor - Oceanfront! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
