Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. 2BR\/2BA Beachside Breeze Cottage! Walk to Beach! Full kitchen! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
Advice for a terrific stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
