Vacation rental booking tips:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 2nd-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
