Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by having your group commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2nd Floor Three Bedroom Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
