Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3 BEDROOM BEACH HOUSE WITH GOLF CART! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.

- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
