Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 3 Level Home on Waterway w\/ Heated Pool & Jacuzzi has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective.
