Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- To find the best vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book your prefectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your group select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. MBV 6Br\/5Ba - 304B has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
