Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 343 Sailors, Beautiful 2-bedroom cottage in Myrtle Beach, 2 Blocks to the Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
