Our top Rental home tips:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. COZY CONDO WITH BEAUTIFUL OCEAN VIEWS... JUST STEPS FROM THE SAND! PREMIER HOST! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a great stay:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
