Vacation rental tips:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Finding the best rental home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Enjoy overlooking the pool from your 2Br\/2Ba double level condo! Near beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
