Rental home booking tips:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Enjoy overlooking the pool from your 2Br\/2Ba double level condo! Near beach. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
