How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the perfect rental home:
- Choose vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3BR in Sand Dunes Resort, Ocean Front Great Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, email the host before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
