Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your group commit to vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. MyrtleWoods beautiful first floor condo+pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
