Getting the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- To start, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. The Twins at OceanReef 3BD Oceanview Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
